Touch-a-Truck 2027
Friday, May 21, 2027, at Jim Warren Park.
- What it is
- An evening at Jim Warren Park where children, with a parent, climb into fire trucks, police cars, tractors, backhoes, tow trucks and the city’s work equipment. The first hour is horn-free for small or noise-sensitive children; in 2026 more than 25 organizations brought over 40 vehicles.
- When it runs
- In 2026 it ran from 5 to 8 p.m., with the no-horn hour from 5 to 6. That year closed with a drone show for America’s 250th, which the city billed as an addition for the anniversary.
- Where to park
- In 2026 the city added free overflow parking at Freedom Intermediate School.
- What it costs
- Free. Food trucks sell on site.
- The history
- The city describes it as an annual Parks Department event at Jim Warren Park. No source gives its first year.
