Arbor Day 2027

Saturday, April 17, 2027, at Pinkerton Park.

Put on by Franklin Tree Commission and City of Franklin ParksChecked October 21, 2026
What it is
A two-hour morning at Pinkerton Park where families take home free tree saplings and learn about trees and local wildlife. In 2026 the Nashville Zoo, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the Middle Tennessee Raptor Center and the library’s story time took part.
When it runs
In 2026 it ran from 10 a.m. to noon. The city has not posted 2027’s hours.
What it costs
No admission is charged anywhere it is advertised. The saplings are free; in 2026 Middle Tennessee Electric served free hot dogs and there were drawings for larger trees.
The history
The Williamson Herald called the 2026 celebration the city’s 20th, put on by the Parks Department and the Tree Commission. Franklin has been a Tree City USA, which requires an Arbor Day observance, for 20 years. No source gives the first year.
